Even better "Space for all" and sustainable development of Bønnerup Port
We have a fantastic harbor in Bønnerup. Since its construction in 1937, the harbor has been a popular gathering place for fishermen, permanent residents, yachtsmen, anglers, camping and holiday home guests and other tourists. The harbor is a huge asset that is visited by thousands of people every year and today the harbor houses several restaurants, shops and businesses.
In order for the port to remain attractive, we have been working on a couple of exciting projects over the past few months, both of which help develop and future-proof the Port of Bønnerup.
Room for everyone - Renovation of existing and purchase of new table bench sets at Bønnerup Harbor
There has long been a desire to raise the standard and the immediate impression of the port for the port's many visitors by renovating existing benches, scrapping the worst of the old ones and purchasing new ones. The new benches will be a long-term investment in maintenance-free, robust and weather-resistant materials that will last for many years.
A unanimous board of Bønnerup Havnefest has decided to contribute just over DKK 75,000 to the project. An amount that will be taken from the profits the Harbour Festival brought in at the anniversary celebration in 2022. The Bønnerup Fishing and Marina Foundation wants to contribute with DKK 32,500.
In addition, many of the harbor's volunteers have expressed a desire to help with the renovation of existing benches and the assembly and installation of new ones. We have applied to LAG Djursland for funding, and we can gratefully reveal that LAG Djursland has chosen to support the project with DKK 122,100. - In total, we can create a new environment in the harbor areas for the many visitors for DKK 229,600.
A very exciting project that we look forward to following all the way. The harbor's tireless helpers have offered to renovate the old benches this winter where it makes sense and assemble and install the new ones. A voluntary job that will make the funds stretch even further for the benefit of all of us at the harbor. The new benches are expected to be ready in spring 2024.
We owe a big thank you to Bønnerup Havnefest's many volunteers, whose work has generated profits, LAG Djursland and the harbor's volunteer helpers. It will be so nice with the new tables and benches, and it will give the whole harbor a huge boost for the benefit of the many users of Bønnerup Harbor.

LAG Djursland has also chosen to support our purchase of a solar cell system that can support the operation of the port's ice plant. We are very much looking forward to this green investment, which allows for a more sustainable operation of the ice plant, which is a necessity for both the port's fishing business and fishing at Bønnerup Harbor.
All in all, two very exciting projects that each contribute positively to the development of the Port of Bønnerup.
